The filming started in Sardinia and continued across Apulia, Tuscany, Romagna and Milan; every location that our chef has visited is among the most iconic, artistic and cultural sites of Italy, always surrounded by astonishing landscapes. In Sardinia, Nadia explores nature and meets locals living in the rural parts of the island - thus representing the food traditions that have been handed down for generations. But she also meets renowned Chefs who now take the culinary arts to the next level. Nadia’s tour around Italy continues in Romagna, where she shows the true craft of pasta-making and explains the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle. In the hills of Tuscany, the land of truffles and wine, the spectator is first invited into the castle of a true Baron surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of Chianti Classico, and then introduced to the heart of Florence for an emotional immersion in the history of the city.In the heel of Italy’s boot, Apulia, Nadia travels across several Masserie – authentic local farm estates that have been masterfully renewed and now present an avant-guard vision of the Region’s culinary tradition, which already boasts a strong plant-based imprint. Finally Nadia goes back to Milan, her hometown, where she has the privilege of entering the kitchen of the first plant-based Chef to ever be awarded a Michelin Star - Pietro Leemann. Italy is recognized as the world’s food capital, and it is about time it is recognized for its amazing vegan dimension too. The final part of each episode (“The Kitchen”) includes a more technical content, filmed in an ad-hoc kitchen set where Nadia prepares the recipe of a gourmet vegan dish inspired by the experience gathered during her tour.
